3D Lettering

A three-dimensional sign can transform your company name and logo into a powerful marketing tool, providing your business with a modern and professional image and giving you the edge in today’s competitive market. Nothing leaves a greater impression on your customers than a custom made 3-D sign of your corporate logo displayed outside your building, near the entrance or in the reception area.

When compared to conventional vinyl stickers and flat cut out lettering, 3D lettering offers a great way to add impact and distinctiveness to your commercial sign.

We’re often asked, “ What do you mean by 3D?”

People seem to confuse the term with computer animated or virtual reality 3D. That type of 3D looks dimensional on a computer screen, but in reality is a flat image, whereas our work is “touch and feel 3D” (meaning you can feel the textures). Our 3D lettering and logos can be custom made and designed in a variety of sizes and colours. The lettering is precision cut to specification from various materials which include:

• Formed plastic
• Cut out aluminium or plastic
• 3D all aluminium lettering
• 3D lettering with illuminated faces
• 3D Perspex lettering
• Flat Perspex (acrylic) letters
• Aluminium composite letters
• Aluminium letters
• Vinyl letters

The cut out letters then have returns added to them to add an extra dimension. The lettering can either be directly mounted on a surface or raised using pins to create a “shadow” effect.

Various methods of lighting can be applied to 3D lettering that further enhances the 3D effect. These include:

•Full face lit – Face lit built up letters have a coloured perspex face letter. This has a light source mounted behind, allowing the face and return to light up.

•Face lit – This type of built up lettering consists of two parts:

1. A coloured perspex face letter and

2. A return that is made out of either aluminium or perspex. A light source is placed inside the letter, allowing the face to light up, but not the return.

•Backlighting / Reverse lighting – This method lights up the area behind the logo or lettering which is constructed from a solid material, to prevent light from passing through the face or return of the letters.
